A few years ago the Bella crew took an east coast road trip. We packed the trip full of hotel waffles, covered bridges and a birthday. My birthday to be exact. I had no idea what was planned as we wound down a little country road “in search of lobster.” I was ready, willing and able to laugh when we pulled up in front of someone’s quaint New England home thinking, yeah right, there is definitely a lack of lobster here. As things turned out, I was right. No lobster. But! It was the coolest birthday surprise to date: a proper English tea. Wow. It was amazing. Little crustless sandwiches, fresh baked scones, and of course delicious tea. After we stuffed ourselves full of triangle sandwiches and clotted cream, we went for a little walk through our lovely hosts garden, complete with the largest hidrangea bush I have ever seen. It was a very polite affair and I’m quite sure the 3 of us felt more like giggling girls at a Junior League function than proper english women, but it was awesome.

Though no vast bushes or New Hampshire hosts were present, Bella hosted an amazing tea this past weekend. Complete with pretty dresses and white gloves – a grand time had by all. A fantastic way to show that it is possible to have a lovely get together without discussing religion or politics and feeling very giggly with ones crustless sandwich.
